Festival Statesmen Chorus has grown to become one of Australia's premier choirs, with a proud history of excellence in vocal performance. The Chorus provides its members with world-class musical training and offers them the opportunity to perform at prominent events throughout South Australia, as well as at national and international levels.

Festival Statesmen Chorus has big aspirations, and we invite you to help make them a reality. As a community-based, not-for-profit arts organisation, our activities are solely supported by the generosity of our members, performance fees, and the dedication of our many volunteers and in-kind contributions. We invite you to be part of the Festival Statesmen’s journey.

Festival Statesmen is a registered charity and any donations above $2 can be claimed as a tax deduction. Even a small donation can make a meaningful impact!

Our Projects

Voices of Adelaide has become a key pillar of the Festival Statesmen organisation. In 2025, we launch the South Australian Honour Choir in partnership with the Elder Conservatorium. The Honour Choir program is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of vocal talent, providing young singers from all over the state with exceptional training and opportunities to grow as artists. This program will help empower youth to develop confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music, while giving them the chance to perform and connect with their community and to work with some of Australia's top educators. This project hopes to make a lasting impact on these young voices, shaping the future of Adelaide's musical landscape.

Our Approach

Backed by world-class training in voice pedagogy, conducting, education and performance experience, founder Jonathan Bligh brings a vision and passion for music making at the highest level.

Artistic focus is centred on creating meaningful connections with creators, performers and audience members alike, all in service of the music.

Festival Statesmen is strongly committed to high-performance outcomes, grounded in an inclusive, fun, safe, and structured approach to music-making.

Fostered from within the core ensemble, peer leadership is supported by a committed board made up of industry professionals, all invested in the artistic product.
Our mission is music. Making music together is a powerful force that fosters mental well-being, connection and confidence among our members.
